Brandon grew up in food service, cooking and serving people alongside his mother, he was instilled with how food brings communities together and sustains cultural identity. Since then, he has managed restaurants around Portland and is excited to finally merge it with his love for craft beer. Ex Novo is the perfect place to push the standard for what a brewpub can be, intrinsically tied to giving back and offering the best beer, food and service possible. Cheers!
Husband, father of 2 little boys, and head brewer at Ex Novo. Ryan came to Ex Novo in late 2016 from Epic Brewing Co. in Salt Lake City. He is passionate about the craft, especially barrel aged and wild beer. He is a passionate advocate for social justice and an outdoor enthusiast and is excited for his new role at the helm.
Chris joined the Ex Novo team in September of 2015 and has been pushing the food program to the limits ever since. Over his 20+ years in kitchens, he has worked with some of the industry’s best- which has shaped the cook he is today. With a passion for all things smoked and pickled, he strives to put his unique twist on classic comfort foods. In his “spare” time, Chris runs his own business, Magpie and Spence, and enjoys camping and exploring the great Pacific Northwest with his family.
